Asian Games: Indian Trio Of Sarabjot Singh, Arjun And Shiva Win 4th Gold In Shooting

Asian Games 2023: The Indian men’s team of Sarabjot Singh, Arjun Singh Cheema and Shiva Narwal have clinched the fourth gold medal for the country from the shooting ranges at the Asian Games as they won the 10-metre air pistol team event in Hangzhou. The team emerged victorious with two marksmen also making it to the individual finals on Thursday, reported PTI. The trio narrowly defeated the Chinese team to take the top podium.

With this, Indian shooters have so far won four gold, four silver and five bronze medals, as per the agency. The boys’ aggregate score of 1734 was just one better than the Chinese team, which settled for the silver medal. PTI stated that Vietnam, with a score of 1730, bagged the bronze.

Meanwhile, Sarabjot and Arjun have also made it to the eight-shooter finals and will be in contention for individual medals as well. Notably, out of six gold medals that India has won so far, four are from shooting.

Earlier, Roshibina Devi Naorem bagged a silver medal in the final of Women’s 60 Kg Wushu increasing the medal tally of the country.

“This Silver medal is dedicated to the people of Manipur. I tried my best in this game.  I will rectify the faults I made in this game and play better. I will train harder for the upcoming World Championships in November,” Roshibina Devi Naorem, after winning the silver medal at the 19th Asian Games.

The women’s 25m pistol team, led by Manu Bhaker, also reached the top step of the podium. Esha Singh won silver in the individual category. Anant Jeet Singh Naruka won the men’s skeet individual silver medal, while the team also took bronze.
