New Zealand cricketer Rachin Ravindra recently met his grandmother in Bengaluru. The young Kiwi cricket star who is part of New Zealand’s World Cup 2023 squad and broke the record for the most number of runs scored by someone in his debut World Cup, surpassing Jonny Bairstow’s tally of 532 runs set in 2019, was born to parents of Indian-origin in New Zealand. With the 23-year-old spending a significant amount of time with the World Cup happening in the country, he made sure he used the opportunity to a pay visit to his grandmother.

The left-handed batter who can also contribute with the ball in hand, had a heartfelt caption attributed to him along with the video which has been posted by an account on social media site X (formerly Twitter). “Blessed to have such an amazing family. Grandparents are angels whose memories and blessings stay with us forever,” the video was captioned. However, ABP Live could not independently verify whether the account was authentic and operated by the cricketer himself.

New Zealand All But Through To World Cup 2023 Semifinal

Meanwhile, the Black Caps have all but sealed a place for themselves in the ICC Men’s World Cup semifinal. They beat Sri Lanka by 5 wickets in their last round-robin match and will finish with 10 points. Pakistan have an outside chance of surpassing the Kiwis on the net run rate if they win beat England to match New Zealand on the points and win by 287 runs to better their net run rate. While batting second, Babar Azam & Co. would need to chase down their target in 16 balls to set up a semifinal against India which practially seems impossible, implying all chances of a potential India vs New Zealand World Cup 2023 clash at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 15 (Wednesday).
