The Indian cricket team is currently in West Indies ahead of the Test series starting from July 12. The Men in Blue have enjoyed a rare month-long break since their defeat to Australia in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final would be raring to go back to the field and play some fearless brand of cricket that can get their 2023-25 cycle of the WTC underway with a bang.

Prior to the series, star India batter Virat Kohli was asked whether he has any plans to hang with his ex-Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate and West Indies cricket icon Chris Gayle in the Caribbean to which he gave an interesting response.

“Well Chris, I have hung out with him for so many years. I am sure that when we are in Jamaica, we will definitely go and meet Chris. He always invites the team home to have a good time and just chill out,” Kohli said during an interaction on ‘Follow The Blues.’

“So I am sure he is going to do the same again if he is in town. Everyone loves him. We went last time as well to his place, we had a great time and he is such a humble guy. Definitely, if he is free and he is in town, sure we are going to catch up with him,” he added.

When asked about his favourite memory of playing in the West Indies, he revealed that playing in Antigua in 2016 when he got his first double hundred with Viv Richards amont the spectators is an experience he holds close to his heart.

“My favorite memory obviously is Antigua. I got my first-ever double hundred in Test cricket in Antigua in front of Sir Vivian Richards. That for me was a very, very special moment and then he met me in the evening as well and congratulated me. It can’t get any better than that.”
