It was the Indian bowlers who produced a magical spell as they restricted the Bangladesh Women’s team to a paltry total of 114 and helped India win the game by 7 wickets on Sunday in Dhaka. With this win, India has taken a 1-0 in this thrilling 3-match T20I series.
Earlier, Bangladesh put up a below-average total of 114/5 in 20 overs after India’s skipper Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and opted to field against Bangladesh in the first T20I of the three-match series in Mirpur. It was Shorna Akter of Bangladesh who came out as their top scorer, making unbeaten on 28 off 28. Indian bowlers like Pooja Vastrakar, Shafali Verma, and Minnu Mani bowled accurate lines and took one wicket each.
In reply, opener Shafali Verma got out early while Jemimah Rodrigues also failed to show her finesse. It was India’s skipper Harmanpreet Kaur who hammered an unbeaten 54 as India outplayed Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the first T20I in Mirpur on Sunday. Both Harmanpreet and Mandhana put their team in control with the left-hander scoring 38 before getting out while Kaur ended the game with two back-to-back fours.
