Pakistan’s only World Cup-winning captain to date Imran Khan’s stint as the Prime Minister of the Country was an eventful one which saw several controversies. Ultimately, he became the first Prime Minister from Pakitsan who got a no-confidence motion in parliament and had to vacate the post. It was Khan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf party that lost the support of its coalition allies while ultimtately led to the downfall of Khan’s stint as the PM. And now in a recent interview, Khan’s former national teammate Javed Miandadad has made a big statement about the cricketer-turned-politician.

Miandad said that it was he who helped Kham become PM. However, he did not receive a call from Khan to thank him for his help.  “I’m revealing today, I helped Imran Khan become the Prime Minister. I was even there at the oath taking ceremony. But then I never received a thank you call, which bothered me a lot. It was your duty to do so, why did you knock my doors at 2 then?” Miandad said while answering a question in an interviview to ARY News on Saturday.

Miandad also talked about his own style of captaincy and said that he when he was the captain, he made an attempt to ensure that even when the team was losing, it wasn’t a heavy defeat. He said that no one objected to the way he went about leading the team.

Talking about Pakistan cricket, there was plenty of news on the South East Asian Country threatening to boycott the World Cup in India post the latter’s stance of not touring Pakistan for the Asia Cup. However, the ODI World Cup schedule was announced by the ICC and Pakistan look well on schedule to come to India. The Men in Green are set to play their first two matches of the tournament in Hyderabad before taking on India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 15.
