IND U19 vs SA U19, Under 19 World World Cup Semifinal LIVE SCORE: It’s time for the business end of the ICC Men’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup to kickstar. The first of the two semifinals will be played between giants India and hosts South Africa. India is no alien to this round of the tournament, with this being their fifth successive semifinal. On the other hand, the Proteas would reckon this is a massive opportunity to make a statement and enter the finals.
The word ‘choker’ has often been associated with the Proteas and this would be quite the most perfect opportunity for some of the superstars of tomorrow to break that tag and play their best cricket in a knockout fixture. On the other hand, whenever India plays, be it at the Under-19 level or at the senior level, eyeballs tend to follow with people mad about the sport in their part of the world.
It will be a do-or-die match for both the teams with the winner meeting the winner of the other semifinal between Australia and Pakistan in the Under-19 World Cup final and the team succumbing to a defeat getting knocked out of the tournament. Both the teams have some match-winners in their ranks. While Musheer Khan, the India U19 star, is the leading run-scorer in the tournament so far with 334 runs, captain Uday Saharan is not far behind either with 308 runs. South Africa’s Kwena Maphaka is the leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 18 scalps to his credit. Steve Stolk, Lhuan-dre Pretorius have been the highest scorers for South Africa this tournament with 214 and 211 runs respectively while Saumy Pandey has been India’s leading wicket-taker with 16 wickets to his credit.
All and all, this looks set to be a riverting encounter.
