The Indian team is set to lock horns with West Indies in the two Tests and three-match One-Day-Internationals (ODIs) against West Indies, starting from July 12. The Men in Blue will also play a five-match T20 International series during the Windies tour. Since we are just a few days away from the high-octane action, take a look at the top three Test inning by an Indian batter on the West Indies soil:

Virat Kohli, 200 runs in 2016, at North Sound:

The former India skipper Virat Kohli scored 200 when both teams played against each other at North Sound in 2016. This was Virat’s first double century in red ball format. On the back of his innings, India collected 566 in the first innings. He took just 283 deliveries and smashed 24 boundaries. In the end, India sealed victory in the game by an innings and 92 runs.

Virender Sehwag, 180 runs in 2006, at Gros Islet:

Former India opener Virender Sehwag is still considered one of the most dangerous openers India has ever produced. Sehwag’s best Test innings in West Indies was of 180 runs off just 190 deliveries, helping India make 588/8 in the first innings. He hammered 20 boundaries and two sixes put the hosts under pressure. As a result, they were forced to follow on after collecting 215 in their first innings and somehow managed to finish the game on a draw, finishing on 294/7 in their second essay.

Navjot Sidhu, 201 runs in 1996-97, at Port of Spain:

India were reeling in reply to hosts 296 in the first innings as the visitors lost opener VVS Laxman for a duck. His partner Navjot Sidhu then came in and joined the wall Rahul Dravid (57) to steady the ship and then went on to score 201 before he was bowled by Curtly Ambrose. India ended up scoring 436 kudos to Sidhu’s effort but the game ended in a draw.
