India’s ODI World Cup 2023 team announcement live updates: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has finalised a 15-man squad for 2023 ODI World Cup in India. According to rules set by ICC, all the countries participating in ODI World Cup 2023 have to announce their squads by September 5, changes can be made later. India’s team for ODI World Cup 2023 has been selected by the apex cricket board in India. Captain Rohit Sharma, coach Rahul Dravid and chief selector Ajit Agarkar reportedly had a meeting after India vs Pakistan match in the 2023 Asia Cup to once and for all finalise India’s ODI World Cup team; the official announcement of which is to be made today by the BCCI.

As per several media reports, wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson, fast bowler Prasidh Krishna and youngster Tilak Verma didn’t make it to India’s ODI World Cup 2023 squad. According to media reports, KL Rahul is part of the team. Samson is expected to remain with the team as a reserve player and will replace KL Rahul if he is gets injured during the tournament.

Chairman of the selection committee Ajit Agarkar met Indian captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid in Sri Lanka to select India’s ODI World Cup 2023 team. 

India’s ODI World Cup 2023 squad will be captained by Rohit Sharma. Ishan Kishan, after his recent batting heroics for India with the bat in the middle order, is likely to secure a spot in the World Cup team too. Apart from Rohit and Ishan, India’s batting line-up is expected to have star players Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav.

All-rounders Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur are also expected to secure a place in the World Cup team. In the bowling department, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj will lead the pace attack, while spinner Kuldeep Yadav gets picked as the lone wrist-spinner.
