Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) recorded the highest team total ever in an IPL-match in their victory over the Mumbai Indians at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday (March 28). While MI won the toss and elected to bowl first in their second away fixture on the trot, they ended up conceding a record 277 runs in their 20 overs. Three of Orange Army batters scored half-centuries with Heinrich Klaasen, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head coming to the fore as the hosts shattered batting records for fun.
In response, MI did come out with intent and went after the SRH bowling but still ended up 31-run short, managing 246/5. 523 runs were scored in the match, with the record of most number of sixes ever hit in a single match also being broken as Hyderabad got off the mark on the points table. By contrast, MI are yet to open their account on the tally with their second straight defeat.
