During an interview on BeerBiceps’ The Ranveer Show, former England captain Michael Vaughan declared Jasprit Bumrah as the premier pace bowler in international cricket. Vaughan ranked Bumrah above renowned figures in international cricket such as Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc, Trent Boult and even his own countrymen, Stuart Broad and James Anderson.
Michael Vaughan showered praise on Jasprit Bumrah during an episode of the BeerBiceps’ show The Ranveer Show. Speaking to host Ranveer Allahabadia, Vaughan expressed his belief that Bumrah is the ultimate choice as a bowler for any conditions and any format of the game.
“If you’re asking most people around the world if you could pick one fast bowler for all conditions for all formats, Jasprit Bumrah is the number one on the list. Yeah, he’s just incredible”, Michael Vaughan said.
‘Bumrah Has Got Absolutely Everything’
Vaughan praised several world-class bowlers like Boult, Southee, Anderson, Broad, Cummins, Hazlewood, and Starc, but he emphasized Bumrah’s slight superiority. He attributed Bumrah’s effectiveness to his bowling action, which allows him to generate pace, accuracy, reverse swing, conventional swing, variation and bounce and gives him an extra edge over others.
“There’s some world-class bowlers you know, New Zealand’s Trent Boult and Tim Southee have been great for many years. Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad are incredible bowlers. Pat Cummins, Hazlewood Starc, Mitchell Starc are incredible bowlers but Bumrah is just a little bit [above]. He’s just got that action, because of his release, he gets a little bit closer to the batter, which is obviously giving him the extra bit of pace, accuracy, reverse swing, conventional swing, variation, bounces, you name it and Bumrah has got absolutely everything,” he added further.
Bumrah’s Prowess In IPL 2024
Bumrah is currently representing Mumbai Indians (MI) in the ongoing 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. In the previous match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the MI pacer secured a 5-wicket haul. Prior to that, he achieved figures of 2/22 against Delhi Capitals (DC) and 3/14 against Gujarat Titans (GT).
