Residents At Mohammed Shami’s Village Pray For India’s Victory

With every passing hour inching closer to the beginning of the cricket world cup finals, the excitement is mounting among the fans and supporters who are using all means possible to cheer for the team blue including faith and religion. 

At Mohammed Shami’s village in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha, people raised their hands in prayer for team India’s victory in today’s match scheduled to be held against Australia at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi stadium. 

The residents prayed for good performance by the batters and bowlers in today’s match. 

“May our players perform well in today’s match so that we win the world cup,” said one of them. 

Shami displayed a stellar performance during the first semi final played against New Zealand on Wednesday at Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium as he took a record 7 wickets against the Kiwis.

India made 397/4 in that match after electing to bat first, riding on hundreds from Shreyas Iyer and Virat Kohli’s record 50th ODI ton.   

Fans in various parts of the country are holding prayers for team India’s success. 

In Gujarat’s Botad, a unique ‘darshan’ of Kashtabhanjan Dev Hanumanji Maharaj has been arranged ahead of the final match while a special prayer was performed in Bengaluru for team India’s victory.

Fans in UP’s Ayodhya also offered prayers at Shri Hanuman Garhi temple for the victory. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join the fans in supprorting team India as he would visit the stadium and watch the match live in Ahmedabad with Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles, said Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
