Legendary India batter Virat Kohli has been sharing cryptic posts on Instagram ever since team India’s heartbreaking loss to Australia in the second edition of World Test Championship in England. This was India’s second successive defeat in a WTC Final in two years. Also, the result further extended India’s drought for an ICC title since 2010. Kohli’s dismissal during India’s chase on Day 5 was the game-changing moment in WTC Final. The star batter faced immense heat for his poor shot selection. Amid uproar over India’s humiliating defeat, a few days back, Kohli had shared a quote by Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu.
“Silence is the source of great strength,” said the message from the former India captain on social media.
Kohli disappointed fans with his batting performance in the WTC Final. In the first innings, Virat was dismissed for 14 runs, while in the second innings he scored 49 runs. A big match-winning knock was expected from Kohli during India’s 444 target run-chase in the fourth innings on Day 5, but he was dismissed for 49 after playing a loose shot in what Sunil Gavaskar described as an attempt to “achieve landmark, a milestone”.
