Sam Curran had a forgettable outing with the ball during England’s first ODI against West Indies at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua on December 3 (Sunday). The Three Lions’ left-handed all-rounder bowled 9.5 overs and gave away 98 runs in 9.5 overs without managing to take a single wicket. Curran’s bowling figures meant the visitors were unable to chase down 325, a total which they had posted after batting first. West Indies ended up winning the match by 4 wickets and 7 balls remaining.
Curran may have had a match to forget as far as his bowling performance is concerned, with the bat he did manage to score 38 off 26 to help England post a formidable total. However, what attracted the attention of the netizens was Curran coming out to bat with his sunglasses on, something which fans don’t get to see often. Video of Curran batting with the sunglasess on has gone viral on social media.

Captain Shai Hope Scores A Century For West Indies Vs England
In a stern run chase, it was West Indies skipper Shai Hope who scored a century. He scored an unbeaten 109 off 83 balls and came back only after the Men in Maroon registered a victory to take 1-0 lead in the five-match series. Other than Hope’s hundred, Alick Athanaze scored a half-century while Romario Shepherd scored 48 off 28 to help West Indies win the match with 7 balls to spare.
In the England batting innings, Harry Brook top scored with 71 off 72 while Phil Salt (48 off 28), Zak Crawley (48 off 63) and Brydon Carse (31 off 21) made useful contributions. Gudakesh Motie was the most impressive West Indies bowler on the day with figures of 2/49 while Rehan Ahmed of England produced figures of 2/40 but ended up on the losing side.
