India have been in great form in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, winning each of their nine matches, on their wait to the semifinals. With the hosts being the only undefeated team in the tournament, they finished as the table toppers in the league stage and are all set to play New Zealand in the semifinals after the Kiwis finished at the fourth place in the semis.

Much of the team’s success has been attributed to the bond they share which is visible both on and off the field and when skipper Rohit Sharma was asked about the same, he revealed that there was even a fashion show planned for the members of the team, the winner of which he refused to reveal.

“We even had a fashion show as a part of team activity which people don’t know about which is a good thing as some things should remain private,” Rohit said at the pre-match press match conference ahead of the semifinal.

Notbaly, the Kiwis hold an upper hand as far as knock-fixtures against India in ICC events are concerned. In the 2019 World Cup semis too the same two teams were up against each but the Black Caps had emerged victorious on that occasion.

‘The past is the past’: Rohit on New Zealand Beating India In 2019 World Cup Semifinal

“In the back of your mind. You know obviously what has happened in the past. But what has happened in the past is the past. What we can do today what we can do tomorrow is what we usually talk about so I don’t think there’s much debate or much talk about what happened ten years ago or five years ago or the last World Cup as well,” the Indian opener stated.

IND vs NZ World Cup 2023 semifinal will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 15 (Wednesday)- the iconic stadium where MS Dhoni hit the six, now part of India’s cricketing folklore, to finish off the final against Sri Lanka and end the nations 28-year-wait for a World Cup. India will now look to secure a place in the finals at the same venue, 10 years since their last world title.
