Meanwhile, players and support staff members of both England and Australia were spotted wearing black armbands on Day 1 of ENG vs AUS Edgbaston Test.
As per an official statement released by the country’s cricket board (ECB) on Thursday (June 15), the heartwarming gesture is a tribute to the people who lost their lives due to a stabbing and van attack in England’s Nottingham. Also, a minute silence was observed in memory of the victims. Earlier this week, a man went on a rampage and stabbed three citizens to death in Nottingham. One of the victims was a budding cricketer, who played for Bishops Hull Cricket Club.
