A Mexican bullfighter is left fighting for his life after he was gored in the neck during a show over the weekend in the central state of Tlaxcala. The same has been confirmed as per a report carried by news agency Agence France-Presse which cites medics. The same source of information has confirmed that the bullfighter Jose Alberto Ortega was kneeling when he was charged by the bull on Saturday (February 10).
The injury was such that he was left wounded in the ring before he managed to get up and find a shield for himself. The bullring has later issued a medical report as per which the 26-year-old has sustained a fracture in the skull. Moreover, he has incurred damages to his eye, jaw, ear and neck. Jose Alberto Ortega In ‘Very Serious’ Condition
While the bullfighter Jose Alberto Ortega was rushed to medical aid and underwent a surgery, he continues to be in very serious condition. Despite protests from Mexico animal rights activists, the sport is continuing as of now but faced a likely fan at least in the capital Mexico city.
“Torture is not art, it is not culture,” some of those who protested against bullfighting shouted near the Plaza Mexico bullring as per a Reuters report. “Yes to bulls, no to bullfighting,” said another one of their slogans.
